Religion or Faith

I am a persona created by the figment of my imagination living a life of freedom. Unfortunately in the real world I am still living in a box. 

Now here me out I was born into a Catholic family. Baptized into the religious faith and continued through Catholic School and received my Sacraments through the Catholic faith. Now I will never throw my religion into anyone's face. As with any belief system NO it is not perfect. I understand that, believe me coming from a Lesbian I get that. However it is a religion like any other created by man.

All religions go back to one person, a higher power whatever you call them, and many religions have stemmed from Catholicism. A wise woman once told me, God is too big for just one religion.

I am truly lucky enough to say that I grew up in a liberal society. I went to Catholic school for a large part of my life and I was blessed with sisters, nuns, priest and teachers who tried to preach about love and forgiveness and no judgment of others. Stay with me here I know this isn't easy for everyone to understand. I am not about the religion itself but more about the faith I believe in.

There are many things about my religion that I do not believe in. However what I do believe in is faith, in a higher power, in the basics on how to live a virtuous life. I believe in treating others as I want to be treated. Just as our government laws are often outdated so are religions, but you can't force them to just accept what has been unacceptable for so long. You have to work at it and let's face it, it's easier to fight the government about marriage than a church.

I'm not here to convert anyone but what I want to say is to have faith in something.  Believe in something, believe in the good of the world and in the good in others. But don't forget, it is better to let go of people who do you no good, than to try to hold on to someone who does you harm.

A Kitty for Santa Ch 04

The last chapter of A Kitty for Santa was released today and truth be told not much clothes was worn in this chapter. So I have provided some of the ideas I went with when writing this chapter. Acceptance of Our Differences

In my life I have been truly blessed. I was born into a generation where many before us have fought battles for us in order for us to be just a little bit more free. I was born into a society where I could be gay and not be scared of being persecuted. I am blessed to be able to hold my wife's hand and not feel shame. Unfortunately, not every society, not every generation and not all genders have that opportunity.

The LGBT community is a minority community. In some cities there are large groups committed to providing help and support. However in some areas they don't have strong communities. Within the community there is discrimination towards each other. An example would be against the transgender community. Lesbians towards transgender men, gay males towards transgender women. Is it not enough that straight people discriminate but we feel the need to do it to each other.

I hate discrimination with a passion because it so often stems from hypocracy. So many times people dislike others because they hate that about themselves. For many homophobic people they have feelings within themselves that they either do not accept or do not understand.

I recently read of a story of a transgender male who was made fun of by butch lesbians and their femme girlfriends.  Butch and femme couples will often encounter men who will say offensive statements such as: 'Let me show you what a real man can do.' It's like dealing with children. I worked with children for over 10 years, I was a kid (teenager) myself when I started. "Do unto others as you want done to you." Even they understand that simple concept.

I was 12 when a 8 year old boy said "I'm a girl trapped in a boy's body." For as long as I had known him he just seemed to have a lot of female tendencies and then when he blurted this out it made sense to me and I went on with my childhood.  The fact that he was so young and he seemed to comprehend that concept was a bit peculiar. He understood the concept that he didn't feel comfortable in his own skin but he had an idea of what comfort he was seeking. On top of that his parents were teachers who constantly tried talking to him to understand what he was going through. We all just wrote it off as he was gay. Now I think he may have become a Drag Queen or transgender.

What I want you to understand is that sometimes we just don't feel comfortable in our own skin. A person can feel that societies ideas or norms for their gender don't make them feel comfortable. As a human race we evolve. As societies we move forward we adjust to fit. We adjust to what is comfortable and what our views are. All that we ever want to do is be comfortable with who we are so who are you to judge and bully someone else if you have your own so called faults.

No one will ever be perfect. No one will ever be a perfect fit for a label and its stereotypes. This is why you have to accept that everyone is different. You do not have to accept the why but it try to understand it. Do not judge others if they are not harming anyone. It is not your job to judge it is your job to live your life to the fullest without hurting others. Until you are in someone else's exact position you will not understand them. Remember you never know what is going on in someone else's head. Your comment could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Do you want to hold someone's life in your hand? Do you want to be responsible for the death of a human being? I sure as hell don't. Then again I know that others are different, will always be different and we just have to accept it and embrace it.

Happy Valentine's Day

Well it's Valentine's Day and Target shelfs have been wiped out, florists are being raided and men are scrambling to figure out what's going on. I mean I have been planning for this day for almost a month so I'm in the clear. I know many will form the argument that you don't need a special day to tell the one you love how you feel but I think you do. You can go against society but you're the only one who is going to be screwed when you partner is expecting a present and your all badass oh sorry baby I don't believe in a Hallmark moment.

Anyways some few tips for those last minute romantics out there.

If you lack culinary talent grab a few recipes from online and make her something and shape it into a heart. Pancakes, a sandwich, anything cute and creative. Don't forget how easy strawberry's are. Get a tub of nutella if she likes that and spoon onto a cute plate, for dipping. Whip cream is always good. Get her, her favorite drink such as a latte or juice that you know she loves. This will show her you pay attention. That can be like a pre-present you know just to show her you love her.

Flowers if you have some in your back yard or a friends fresh cut flowers in a beautiful vase or wrapped in newspaper and red and pink colored tissue paper, a definite plus.

Don't forget a card everyone's loves to here sentimental stuff even if you didn't write it. Just don't forget to not just sign your name but include a few words to make it seem personal.

Plans for the night.

Remember it is about both of you. Now don't be selfish and love your partner and show them how much you love them. In the end when they see how much you are willing to do for them they will go the extra mile for you.  Try and look and smell your best. A fresh shaving, a shower a few surprises they may not be expecting. Surprises are usually a good thing, when thought out of course.

A Kitty For Santa Ch. 03

As you may have figured out I am a writer. My favorite genre is Lesbian Erotica. I have written several stories published solely on a site called Literotica. If your interested have a look and enjoy yourself while your at it, no pun intended.

I have written a series called  "A Kitty For Santa." The third chapter was released today. Ideas for fun

Open your Mind and Let your Body be Free

I love where I live and where I've grown up. I've been allotted this freedom to grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I've grown up with the ability to not only live within the box but to experience life outside of it and that is what is most important to me. Freedom! I was taught tolerance towards the unknown. There in lies fear. We fear what we do not understand what we do not know.

I want to open your eyes to what is out there, out here, out in the world. Sometimes when we live in a Metropolitan city we are blind to the world outside of the city. There are so many people who can't tell the difference between a goat and a lamb, can't tell you how plants survive, they don't know that some cities don't have skyscrapers or a Starbucks on every corner. We think some people live sheltered lives and sometimes we do too, to an extent.

Point of this that I want you to hear me out. I love to write lesbian stories, most of the one's that are out there and published are Lesbian Erotica.  That said, sex is a large part of what I write but more than that is the act of love. Now I know many will not agree with me but for me Sex is directly connected to love. The love of the person you are with, the love of who they are, the love of their body or the love of the act.

All this has lead me to being open minded about trying new things.

My wife and I have been together 7 years and we were pretty new to everything when we first got together. Now that being said we weren't for long. When we got together it was hard for us to do anything other than leave the bedroom, I mean we had months of repressed feelings to get through. It took a while to get past the newness and truth be told it's still new for us.

The best part about being with someone you love and love being intimate with is, finding new things to do and new ways to do it. Explore each other and take your time and never be to shy to ask for what you want or need. Hiding what you want is just going to make you frustrated. One of the funnest and easiest ways to try something different is a sex toy.

Now because I identify with that sexuality I like to read about others relationships. I live in LA and most people think that we are just like the characters on The L Word or The Real L word. Now that isn't absolutely wrong because my wife is a make up artist and works for companies during Fashion week. I myself work, well its safer for me to not say what I do, this life and that life don't exactly mesh too well. But what I love to do is Cook and Write, two of my biggest hobbies.

That being said I'm sure all Lesbians must have encountered at some point some difficulty with finding someone with similar interest to you.Well when I started writing it was an outlet for me to reach others just like me. Give them an idea of what life is like out there. My stories include a lot of truth to them and that's the fun part deciphering the truth from the fantasy.

Going further I have to say that sex can be such a touchy subject for so many people. It doesn't have to be. Sex is natural as long as it is between two consenting adults I say go for it, just be safe.

Now if you asked me about sex in High School; I looked away I wasn't going to talk about it, hell most of my friends were straight so hearing about straight sex was worse, I couldn't understand why anyone wanted to do it. Then I became  lesbian and figured out ways of having orgasms and I was like wait my friends never talk about that part. All that other stuff means nothing compared to the release of euphoria when you're just so tense. When you don't even want to move because you just want to enjoy the bliss. I'm getting ahead of myself.

Just remember sex isn't a taboo subject, especially not with your partner. Talk about like and dislikes, preferences and hell even fantasies they may just surprise you and maybe you can surprise them too. Be open to new ideas to share with each other and be willing to listen as you expect them to listen to you. Don't be scared because of everything you may have been told growing up. I promise you there is nothing wrong with enjoying sex between two hot and horny consenting adults.

Jobs

I'm relatively young especially in this economic market. I mean I'm allowed to still live with my parents because of the recession. I did already graduate from college and life isn't all peaches and cream sometimes.

Anyway, I know the economy is tough for so many. I remember growing up with the idea that you go to college get a degree and then BAM! you have this great job and that wasn't the case. I come from an immigrant family and I wasn't the first to go to college. I have 2 cousins who have Bachelors and one who is a Pharmacy Technician as well as a brother with and Engineering degree. We are all kind of smart, but none of that means anything in this economy.

I graduated and was making more money at my part-time job, per hour than I would have as a Behavioral Therapist full time. Doesn't that suck, I mean how many of us haven't been in that position. I read somewhere that getting a job nowadays is like being in a lesbian relationship. You either do it over the internet or you have to know someone for a referral.

Point of all this is that we are al in the same boat. It isn't easy and it isn't just you. I have friends who sometimes say my parents ask about getting married and having kids and all this other stuff and I'm not in a situation where I'm financially stable. I agree. I mean I want kids but not under such unstable conditions. During our parents times you could get two jobs anywhere. Nowadays it seems like you have to be unqualified and uneducated to get a mediocre job because or else they think your just expecting too much.

Sometimes I have encountered hiring managers who have said that when they see resumes of people who are overqualified I don't hire them because I think they can do better. But then I think if someone is applying it's because they need it. As I said earlier don't give up the right job will find you. Just keep trying don't give up and in the mean time find something you love to do and enjoy it. Once that perfect job comes around you won't have time for what you love. Although a word advice find what you love and do that for a living.

Holidays

The Holidays are here and for those who have family, they know how annoying it can be. The 20 question game where everyone wants to know what is going on in your personal life. You also have the family who only comes around once a year and wants to catch up on all the gossip.

Its funny how your aunts and uncles will try to use their kids, your cousins, to divulge information from you. Sneaky bastards I tell you, but stay on your toes and trust nobody. At these family gatherings it's every man for themself. I mean when you get cornered you try your hardest to throw it somewhere else. For example, So Johnny who was that girl I saw you with at the movies. The conversation gets the hell away from you and now you are safe.

Then there are always the, so are you seeing anyone or when are the kids coming? But see here is where I am still in the clear I have an older cousin who is neither married nor with children. Although many have lost hope for her because she is in her late 30's and still living at home. I pray for her to find happiness. Personally I think she's gay because a few years ago she moved in with her female Dr. "Friend" and then moved out a year later saying she didn't really like it.  My assumption is she liked it panicked and ran away when shit got real. Then there is my older brother who is also neither married nor with children. Leaving me and 2 younger ones in the clear because hell we're at least still young.

My mother thinks she is the most clever with her questions. 'So my co-worker asked about you. He was saying oh so does your daughter have a boyfriend and she leaves it up in the air like so do you?' No mom I have a wife who I have been with for 7 years and who spends every Holiday with us and whose family I spend every holiday with. I mean seriously how can she not know. My grandmother on the other hand is fine with whatever I do, at the moment I can do no wrong in her eyes. Even when I cut my hair she was totally for it, unlike every other female in the family, who swore it made me gay but didn't say it out loud. Yeah right, me eating pussy makes me gay, me cutting my hair short just makes me even more attractive. I know it sounds conceited, but your are mistaken, its just confidence take my word for it.

I only look to the holidays for one reason and that is the cooking. As you may have previously read in Thanksgiving dinner 2012, I love to cook and I truly enjoy it. I usually plan the menu weeks in advance and since I it takes place at my parents house my father provides the groceries. We stay away from traditional meals mainly because we feel turkey is dry and we tend to crave our ethnic traditional food throughout the year and so it's not as special since we may have just had it a few weeks prior.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to these last two holidays because pretty soon the wedding will be official and the cat will be out of the bag and you never know how anyone will react. My mother has grown a lot over the years so I hope she will at least try to understand but my dad worries me. I think and I'm sure he knows but once you say it out loud shit hits the fan.

So, for everyone out there enjoy your holidays with whoever you have by your side. This is the time we remember the good and forget the bad to enjoy the present. Remember you're still alive and kicking. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.

A Day at The Museum

Every first weekend of the month, Bank of America cardholders can attend many different museums for free, just by presenting their card. If I am free I like to go exploring this vast city and what it has to offer that I won't find anywhere else.

On Sunday I spent a few hours at The Gene Autry Museum. This museum is dedicated to Western History and culture, it also combines various Native American perspectives. 

It is actually the first major American museum to recognize the support of the LGBT community to the American West. It started when a curator brought in the exhibit of shirts worn in Brokeback Mountain. They also have a section on the influence of the LGBT community in the West which has been very understated over the years by media. 

As you walk in there is a California's Designing Women Exhibit spanning from 1896-1986. It  displays different creations by women of the west specifically California. It includes, bathing suits, barbies, surf boards, glass designing, clothes and much more. Women in our society are still not seen as equals and this exhibit brings to the forefront so many local women who have been a great influence in design. Unfortunately, no photography was allowed in this section.

There is also an exhibit of Community, which interprets the West from a racial, ethnic and religious point of view. The saloon or bar was the center of many western communities. A classic saloon is displayed in the center of this exhibit. There is also a Billy the Kid Riffle for anyone who is interested. 

They have a cinema section called Imagination, where you can see many of the costumes worn by cowboys in Hollywood. Included are Gene Autry, John Wayne, Roy Rogers, James Arness and Duncan Renaldo. As for women there is Patsy Montana, Betty Hutton, and Katherine Hepburn.  They also have artifacts from Thelma and Louise and Brokeback Mountain. 

Their is a Colt gallery which is dedicated to the Colt Revolver and its influence on the West. It explores the different revolvers over time. They also have one especially made for their museum for the 175th Anniversary of the Colt.

Outdoors there is a beautiful waterfall for all those who love pictures. It is a great background for you and a "friend."

Needless to say I enjoyed myself and the exploration of the West. Try it out sometime when you have nothing to do and your in LA. It's across from the LA Zoo, also a great place to check out. Have fun and enjoy.

I know it is a struggle to live in a society that can constantly be harassing you. Dealing with people in your life that are unsupportive or mean. Living a life of shame or distress. I haven't had it easy and it has been a struggle. I don't hate myself for the person that I am and the person I have grown to become.  I accept myself and if there is something that I feel is a flaw I try to work on it, not for others but to become a better person.

I know its hard and we may not have the support we need to face the realities of this world. Just do me a favor and listen to this. You're not alone. None of us are. I am here for anyone who needs it. What this is, is a blessing in disguise.

A Kitty for Santa Ch 02.!
